A maioria dos bikers na manifestação eram veteranos.


(SALEM, Ore.) – Viaturas de polícia escoltaram motociclistas no sábado passado no programa chamado U.S. Defenders, designado a ajudar a estabelecer os direitos dos motociclistas membros de clubes nos Estados Unidos.

Eles protestaram contra os estabelecimentos locais que negam serviço a membros de clubes. Vários clubes foram representados.

O grupo, de aproximadamente sessenta bikers, contava com representantes dos Free Souls MC, Gypsy Joker MC, In Country Vietnam MC, Sons of God MC, Road Brother MC, The Outsiders MC, Wildish MC, Wind & Fire MC, Christ's Disciples MC, Northwest Veterans MC, e provavelmente outros.

M. Christian Bottoms é membro dos Outsiders MC e advogado no estado de Oregon. Com a ajuda dele os bikers estão excercendo uma abordagem política sobre a questão e consideram tomar providencias legais contra os estabelecimentos que violam seus direitos.

Um estabelecimento conhecido por recusar-se a servir membros de clubes, o Fifty Club, em West Salem, Oregon, serviu Tattoo Mike, do Gypsy Joker MC, mas recusou serviço a outros bikers que entraram depois.

(AUS) Daredevil americano quebra recorde de salto em uma Harley-Davidson

Daredevil Americano recorde mundial de salto em distância em uma Harley-Davidson na Austrália

SYDNEY - Uma lenda americana do fmx motocross quebrou por duas vezes o recorde mundial – que permaneceu por 10 anos – de distância saltada em uma moto Harley-Davidson na última terça-feira, próximo ao Sydney Harbour, na Austrália.

Seth Enslow voou para atingir demarcar a nova distância recorde de 183.7 pés (56 metros) numa Harley-Davidson XR1200 logo após ter feito um salto de 175 pés (53.34 metros). Bubba Blackwell havia estabelecido o recorde anterior em Las Vegas, 1999, com um salto de 157 pés (47.85 metros).

"Fantástico! Estou perplexo!", disse Enslow após entrar para o livro dos recordes.

Ele pareceu sentir dores após o salto, mas sua equipe reportou que ele estaria bem.

"Nós trabalhamos duro para entrar para a história e ficamos muito felizes por ele ter aterrizado em segurança", declarou o porta-voz da Harley-Davidson, Adrian O'Donoughue.

O salto de Enslow não foi registrado no Guinness World Record, pois o Guinness não tem uma categoria para motos específicas, mas ainda assim é um recorde mundial. Evel Knievel estabeleceu esse recorde em 1975 e o conservou por 24 anos, até o salto de Blackwell.
